Children are pillars of the nation .Healthy youth are tomorrow’s future for strong nation. Heathy food, good habits, and daily regime make children healthy. At Shreerukma Chikitsalaya proper diet & lifestyle is advised for growth & development.

And even after following the good lifestyle, sometime due to external environment like dust pollution, weather change,and because of many reasons, children may fall sick.

1. Recurrent cough and cold

What are the symptoms?

When there is change in season, some children develop allergic rhinitis, sneezing, cough & cold, nose block & fever are some symptoms of allergic rhinitis .

Due to this children are not able to concentrate on their studies. At Shreerukma chikitsalaya , along with oral medication, local applications like pratishyay lepa and decongestant oils are given.

Panchakarma in children- In children panchakarma like nasya can be done to relieve nasal block .


2. Tonsilitis

Inflammation of tonsil is very common in children between 8-12 years.

What are the symptomsof tonsillitis?
when immunity of such children is down there are frequent throat infection attacks which cause fever, difficulty in swelling and pain in throat. Even some times it is accompanied by fever. Oral medicines are given to get rid of fever, pain in throat and inflammation.

Special medicines are given for gargling to reduce inflammation and oedema of throat . External applications like pratishyay lepa help patients for their better recovery .



3. Worms – krumi

According to Ayurveda, in person up to 16 years of age there is dominance of kapha dosha . This age favours growth of krumi easily.

Eating fast food , junk food, unwashed vegetables, eating without washing hands is an invitation for the growth of krumi. There are 20 types of krumi .

Symptoms -

Excessive salivation , psychological irritability, loss of concertation in studies,itching of nose and anus,rolling in bed are some symptoms of krumi . The aahar ras when nourishes all the dhatus in children is sucked by these krumi so there is vitamin deficiency , palor skin and feeling of laziness.

Oral medication is important in this case.
Pachan Apakarshan and prakriti vighat is approach to get rid of these krumi


4. Low concentration in studies

Many children are not able to focus or concentrate on their studies. Special memory enhancing techniques are advised in this case.

Proper nutritious food, good habit, proper study habits are advised. Sometime there are many other ailments in the body, and because of that children are not focused on their studies.

Specific medications are given in this case. Panchakarma like nasya plays an important role which help children to focus on their studies .

Due to continuous reading and mobile / laptop screen exposure, many children have stress on their eyes. In this case, panchakarma like Netratarpan is carried out at Shreerukma chikitsalaya .


5. Height & Personality

Due to heriditary factors, under nourishment, junk food , children do not grow upto expected height . Even because of this personality also hampers.

When there is vitiation of vatadosh and pittadosh in body there is limitation for growth of height . Prakrut kaphadosh enhances the height increase .

Ayurveda advices proper food, diet and some oral medication which will decreases the vitiated vat & pittadosh and increase the prakrut kaph dosh .

Also exercise like yoga and stretching exercise and pranayamas are advised for proper growth & development children .


6. Slow Learner / Autism

Some children are slow learners, some of them have behavioural problems. Some children develop these symptoms due to diseases like epilepsy, cerebral edema, palsy & so on. In all these diseases, Ayurvedic medication and panchakarma like Nasya , shirodhara , Jalaukavacharan is important .


Suvarna Prashan

Suvarna prashan sanskar is one of the essential rituals described in ayurveda for children.

Definition: The process in which Suvarna with fortified ghee is prepared mixing ayurvedic herbs and honey and is administered.

Whom to administer: Swarnaprashan can be given to age group of 0-16yrs.

Time of administration: Swarnaprashan can be done daily, early in the morning, or atleast on every Pushya nakshatra- an auspicious day- which happens to come after every 27 days, given on this day it bestows excellent benefits.

Benefits of suvarna prashan when given regularly:

Overall it makes child healthier. Children taking Swarna prashan doses regularly can be easily distinguished from their remarkably outstanding physical and mental ability.
